Slavic Village | Community Organizing
Rita Howard is an advocate for so many that may not know how to put a voice to their power. Her passion is outreach and as a Neighborhood Steward for Slavic Village and University Settlement, Rita enjoys meeting neighbors and providing resources. If a neighbor needs her, she is ready! Rita purposefully checks on neighbors to see what concerns or needs they have, whether it is food, a ride to a doctor appointment or lights missing on the street; all it takes is an email. Rita’s commitment to community and getting involved gives her a joy beyond words. When a neighbor tells Rita that she was the only one to visit them in months, she feels that her purpose in life is fulfilled. Rita has worked with Progressive Insurance since 2015 as a Supervisor in the services department where she enjoys developing talent and assisting customers.
