Since 2006 the Neighborhood Leadership Development Program has identified engaged and passionate community leaders who have had success in creating that positive change. These individuals know that by expanding their leadership capacity they can bring about even greater change for more citizens. NLDP graduates not only seek neighborhood change but they seek the creation of a region and city that works for everyone. The NLDP leadership training model is based on three distinct program segments which all work together to form a comprehensive approach for enhancing the quality of neighborhood leadership.

What exactly is the Neighborhood Leadership Development Program?

The NLDP is a leadership development program targeted towards Cleveland’s emerging neighborhood leaders who are already working to improve the city. The development of leadership skills is accomplished by a carefully thought out curriculum, use of expert guest speakers, and implementing the Intentional Change Process which is furthered by a participant’s assigned personal coach.

Who is this program for?

The NLDP is for any resident of Cleveland or the Inner Ring suburbs who works on a project or program that is located in Cleveland. Applicants should be willing to make positive changes in their lives to become better leaders.

Why should someone apply to the NLDP?

Without engaged citizens striving to improve the neighborhoods of Cleveland, our communities will not progress. Cleveland's improvement is linked directly to the quality of its engaged neighborhood leadership. NLDP strives to increase the quality and quantity of these leaders.

There are sixteen (16) sessions beginning in August and ending in June. Sessions are 8:30 A.M. until 4:30 P.M. Meals are provided. Attendance and participation are mandatory to ensure success within the program.

Where is the program located?

From my NLDP experience, I learned that a good leader is also a good follower and that the assets in my community are plentiful when you look beyond financial assets.
