Veronica Thornton believes in the power of community, collaboration and creativity. She has worked as an Independent Consultant on numerous initiatives advocating for her community and artists by collaborating with various local and national nonprofit organizations. Vee is driven to create safe spaces for dialogue and healing, and address mental health and trauma within the black community through arts and culture, while striving to create systemic changes along the way. She played a key role in the creation of The Creative Healing Foundation, a nonprofit organization dedicated to harnessing the power of creativity to promote healing. Vee is also a published author with two thought-provoking books of poetry. Her way with words has led her to contribute to over ten poetic anthologies, including the collaborative masterpiece Fire & Ice, unifying poets from across the nation. She also contributed to a book dedicated to domestic violence victims Out of the Storm: Love Shouldn’t Hurt while also contributing to local publications writing inspiring stories from Cleveland’s communities.
