Tanisha Jordan is the Human Resources Manager at Evergreen Cooperative Laundry in Cleveland, Ohio, a nationally recognized second-chance employer that provides meaningful jobs to individuals re-entering the workforce. Becoming a young mother at age 17 without a strong support system gave Tanisha firsthand understanding of the barriers many people face when trying to rebuild their lives, igniting her commitment to helping others access opportunities she once needed. Tanisha founded Tan’Ki, a nonprofit dedicated to supporting aged-out foster youth, particularly young women transitioning into adulthood. Tan’Ki’s goal is to establish transitional housing for young women aging out of the foster care system; in the meantime, Tanisha mentors young mothers and assists them with job readiness, résumé building, and professional development. Tanisha is also the creator of Hiipe, an innovative app designed to connect second-chance employers with justice-impacted job seekers to help reduce stigma, streamline hiring, and open doors to opportunity. Through her leadership, advocacy, and innovation, Tanisha continues to empower others to rebuild, grow, and believe that a second chance is often the first step toward a stronger future.
