Sharena Zayed is a respected civic leader, mental health professional, and community organizer dedicated to advancing safety, justice, and well-being in Cleveland. She spent more than 15 years working for two major healthcare organizations in Cleveland. Wanting to work more closely with individuals and families, she transitioned into mental health and became a dedicated Mental Health Case Manager—a role she continues to love and thrive in. She is the Founder and Owner of Intuitive Hope Behavioral Health and Intuitive Hope Consulting, agencies dedicated to empowering individuals, families, and organizations through high-quality mental health support, community engagement, equity-centered consulting, and capacity-building services. Sharena currently serves as Co-Chair of the Cleveland Community Police Commission (CPC), where she leads vital work to strengthen community–police relationships, advance accountability, and uphold the spirit of Cleveland’s Issue 24/Charter 115.5 reforms. Her work spans outreach, policy development, training, grantmaking, and community healing. Motivated by lived experience, including losing her son Amir to gun violence and navigating police misconduct within her own family, Sharena brings a trauma-informed, resident-centered approach to reform.
