Samantha Montanez is a life-long resident of the St. Clair Superior neighborhood. She attended St. Joseph Academy High School, an all-girls Catholic high school on Cleveland’s west side. It was through her education there and through her family’s dedication to their community that she discovered her passion for public service. While in undergrad at Capital University, she triple majored in Criminology, Sociology, and Psychology, and is currently working towards a Master of Arts in Law, Justice & Culture from Ohio University. Samantha currently works for the Office of Professional Standards as their Community Engagement Officer. Previously, Samantha served as the Community Engagement Coordinator for the Cleveland Community Police Commission, a civilian oversight commission of the Cleveland Division of Police. Samantha is dedicated to ensuring that the voices of all Clevelanders are heard and amplified in the process of police reform. Samantha currently serves on the Edwin’s Leadership & Restaurant Institute Young Professional’s board, the Saint Joseph Academy Alumni Board, and is a volunteer softball coach for the non-profit Cleveland Lady Raiders Fastpitch Softball.
