Cleveland native Naijal Hawkins, known locally as Dayzwhun, got his start in the local art scene at 13 when he painted his first professional mural for a neighborhood business. His early journey began as a graffiti artist, painting alongside his mentor, SANO, and friends of the graffiti crew Cleveland Skribe Tribe. At 17, Dayzwhun was the first artist to paint a mural in the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame Museum in Cleveland, Ohio. Dayzwhun is diversified in several trades, tools and mediums, including acrylics, watercolor, and aerosol paints, graphic design and other digital platforms, as well as carpentry. Dayzwhun has also been a tattoo artist since 2005. In 2012, he opened Red Lion Tattoo, a business that serves as an art gallery and a staple in the art community, and he has also founded 4030 Studios, an artist-led company. Sharing the same birthday as the Golden Age painter Rembrandt, Dayzwhun strives to be one of the greatest visual artists in history, as he continues to push the levels of his creativity and artistic talents to achieve his goals.
