Mikayla

Mikayla is a dedicated advocate for community enrichment through the arts, committed to creating safe and supportive spaces for healing and self-expression. Her journey began with a passion for photography and community service, which evolved into a strong commitment to the non-profit sector. As a teaching artist and creative coach, Mikayla works closely with young adult artists, helping them refine their creative skills while providing guidance on how to transform their craft into a career or pursue further education. A graduate of the Maxine Levin Goodman College of Urban Affairs, Mikayla earned her BA in Regional and Urban Studies with a focus on non-profit development. She also holds an MA in Creative Business Leadership from the School of Design at the Savannah College of Art and Design. Today, Mikayla leads community development initiatives that implement sustainable programs across neighborhoods. Through collaboration with resident groups and local organizations, she helps create impactful events and projects that strengthen community ties and foster resilience. She encourages residents to repurpose vacant spaces as greenspaces and collaborates with community groups to secure grants that support their initiatives.
