Marykate Hammer’s goal is to always possess a non-judgmental attitude, an appreciation for diversity, and a high value for individual differences so that she is able to provide people and communities with the services and support they need most. As the Deputy Director of IT, Marykate currently supports the technology development for the Cuyahoga Metropolitan Housing Authority’s (CMHA) team and guides CMHA’s programming to get residents connected to the internet, access to devices, and the education to use essential technology. Marykate received her Bachelor of Science in Apparel and Textile Design and Marketing. After exploring a career in design, she took on roles that focused on improving vocational education and systems of self-sufficiency. She served two terms of AmeriCorps service, working closely with the Housing Authority of the City of Austin and the Housing Authority of Travis County in their digital inclusion efforts. In 2020, Marykate received her Master’s in Social Work with a concentration in Administration and Policy in Gerontology and the Aging Community from the University of Texas at Austin.
