Julia Wright is passionate about empowering individuals toward a path of greater personal fulfillment. She first got involved in the Cleveland community when she attended Case Western Reserve University. Through leading Art Forward, a student organization that provides art project sessions to youth at the Cuyahoga County Juvenile Detention Center (CCJDC), she experienced the impact of creating a space for creativity, expression, and connection. Through her work with Art Forward, Julia was inspired to dedicate herself to the betterment of the community and returned to Cleveland a year after college to work for the Cuyahoga Metropolitan Housing Authority. There she develops digital inclusion initiatives that connect low-income people to affordable internet and devices as well as the skills to use them. These programs not only allow for access to opportunities like jobs and education, but also foster connection to community and allow for individuals to explore their passions in a new way.
