Jacqueline Jacobs came across a saying credited to Judith Jamison years ago and decided to make it her mantra – Pray. Prepare. Proceed. Jacqueline admits she is a dreamer and believes that the key to building vibrant neighborhoods is outlined in its history and we must create and recreate traditional neighborhood support systems in concert with technology in order to make every neighborhood in Cleveland vibrant and sustainable. Jacqueline is a lawyer and started her service to the community volunteering with the Guardian ad Litem program sponsored by the Cuyahoga County Bar Association and with the Cleveland Legal Aid Society while working to support her family in the insurance industry. Currently Jacqueline is working in the Mt. Pleasant neighborhood with the Mt. Olive Housing and Development Corporation. As its interim Executive Director, Jacqueline finds herself in a unique position to marry her love of history and innovation launching the Mt. Pleasant “100Lot” Visionary Project leveraging 100 years of Mt. Pleasant’s African American presence in the community in order to inform the next 100 years of development in Mt. Pleasant. How? Pray. Prepare. Proceed.
