Claire Billingsley is a non-native Clevelander deeply motivated by the power of home. Her core belief is that every person and neighborhood deserve safe, affordable, and beautiful places to live. This longstanding belief led her to pursue skills and passions ranging from interior design to grant writing to geospatial analysis. Today, Claire leverages those skills to build capacity at nonprofits working to end homelessness and housing insecurity. She joined CHN Housing Partners in 2021 after five years at Lutheran Metropolitan Ministry, operator of Ohio’s largest emergency shelter, where she helped secure roughly $20 million and develop four affordable housing initiatives. Claire is an Advisory Board member of Humble Design Cleveland and previously served on the Ambassador Council of the Fair Housing Center for Rights & Research and the Volunteer Committee of the Metanoia Project. She holds an MS in Urban Studies from Cleveland State University and a BA from the College of Wooster. Claire’s hope for Cleveland is a future where the opportunity, comfort, and community she has found here is accessible to every resident regardless of ZIP code, race, or economic status.
