Jeff

Born in Cleveland’s Hough community, Jeff Mixon was raised in the St. Clair Superior community, where he currently resides. He earned a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Case Western Reserve University and a master’s degree in education from Kent State University. The former Cleveland East High School quarterback fell in love with writing and Greek philosophy at the age of 15. A certified K-8 instructor, Jeff taught for the Cleveland Municipal School District and Detroit Public Schools. A committed social justice advocate, he is the founder of the True Leader Movement, Political Director of Black on Black Crime, Incorporated and President of Black Lives Matter – Cuyahoga County.  One of Jeff’s proudest accomplishments is creating and collaborating with the Cleveland Police Department on a Community Policing Initiative. Jeff’s retirement dream is to become a published author and community statesman. In addition to innate leadership skills, developing the proper intellectual framework through rigorous study (Greek philosophy) and social justice activism experience, the Seven Day Adventist believes that the art of statesmanship requires submitting one’s will to the Creator’s will wholeheartedly.
