Glenville | Community Organizing
Donna Dixon is committed to creating sustainable change and empowering those around her. As the founder of EMBO Publishing Company, a literary and visual arts agency, and the Glenda Gives Foundation, a scholarship program developed for students at Glenville High School (in homage to her late mother), Donna leads both organizations with an allegiance to transforming her community. By fostering educational opportunities and preserving the rich narratives that embody the essence of Glenville, the community where she grew up, Donna’s mission is about restoring hope, fostering a sense of belonging, and nurturing a spirit of resilience and empowerment. Her project, “Growing Up Glenville” is a forthcoming documentary that will amplify the lived experiences of residents, both past and present, through storytelling and aims to cultivate a stronger sense of unity, pride, and collective well-being. Donna holds a BS from Ohio University, a Masters of Social Work from the University of South Carolina and is a current Doctoral Student at Morgan State University. She currently serves as a Family Support Specialist with Say Yes Cleveland.
