Debi Abela is a Cleveland-based Community Engagement Director and community advocate dedicated to fostering a sense of belonging and growth through meaningful connections. With over 20 years of experience in education, she’s passionate about creating inclusive spaces and building meaningful partnerships that connect communities to the arts and each other. Debi is the Director of Engagement and Collaboration at University Circle Inc., serving the University Circle, Glenville, Hough and Fairfax neighborhoods in Cleveland. Debi’s role with UCI evolved from her previous work leading the organization’s Early Learning Initiative, where she designed monthly educational opportunities and field trips with local participating schools. Debi’s work in the community focuses on strengthening relationships and creating opportunities for learning, conversation, and shared experiences.
