Pastor Antoine DaWayne Burts was born and raised in Cleveland, Ohio. After devoting his life to the challenging needs of those living with Developmental Disabilities for 15+ years, and experiencing the stressors and barriers associated with unsuccessful service agencies, Antoine realized the need to launch his own agency in order to become the catalyst of change. Antoine incorporated the Spirit of Excellence, a nonprofit devoted to enhancing the lives of those with developmental disabilities through creating programs that support the continual mental, physical and intellectual growth of those with developmental disabilities. Antoine attended Cleveland Public Schools, earning his General Education Diploma in 1997. In 2004 he attended The McCreary Center of African American Religion Studies and received certification as a Grief Recovery Counselor through the Grief Recovery Institute. Antoine currently sits as a board member of Fairfax Renaissance Development Corporation.
